Nothing happened that night but at work things began to change. At first my boss was nicer to me, then he started to drop romantic hints and was always asking me out for drinks after work. I really did not want to get involved with him so I kept putting him off and finally he started to get mad.

He started putting me down in the office and giving me the worst work to do. I tried to pretend like nothing was wrong but I couldn’t . I also did not want to go to human resources because then everyone would know that I was out at a transvestite bar wearing a ladies evening dress.

Sadly, I began to look for another job. There was just no way that I could stay in the situation the way it was. I eventually found something it offered less money, more hours and was an entry level position. It was really hard for me to decide and every day I went back and forth about it in my head- should I stay or should I go?

Eventually, I decided to go. I never said a word about it to my boss, I just handed him my resignation and gave him two weeks notice. I could tell that he was hurt but I really didn’t care.

I can’t believe that all this happened because I was wearing a ladies evening dress!

The storey we all loved to hear as kids was the one about dad that would explain why his face was covered in what we as kids saw as millions of little pricks and marks of which I will tell you all about closer to the finish of my tribute to the best dad a girl could ever have had. His death at the early age of 54 came as a shock specially when his designation for the infirmary was to get a plaster cast removed only to have him dropped dead in the waiting room.

Eventhough the parting of the ways was abrupt the fondest of memories has still held a powerful presence in my thoughts over the 26 years where I was proud to call him my dad. If I could wrench the clock back – I would tell him how sorry I was for the times I took him for granted but unluckily that self-reproach will be brought to my grave where I know being the good man that he was will be waiting for me at the pearly gates with open arms full of forgiveness.

You might think that Jamaica is great only in the winter, when you can escape the cold weather of the lands farther away from the equator.

But Jamaica is great all year round.

In the winter, I stay in the luxury resorts in Jamaica, sitting by the pools and the beach. What a winter!

In the fall, I sit on the balcony of the hotel, watching the ocean waves go up and down.

In the summer, I walk down the streets and the beach, watching people.

In the spring, I lay down on the beach and forget about my worries and life.

Remember in the words of the wise king of Ecclesiastes, that there’s a season for everything? The same words that were turned into the song Turn, Turn, Turn, that our parents listened to growing up?

Jamaica has something for every season. It even has a hotel for every season!

Some hotels are small mom-and-pop ones. Some are big luxury ones.

My favorite ones are personally the luxury mom-and-pop hotels. You get the comfy feeling of home, like a lost New England retreat – but with the comfort and style of the Good Life.

Cancer doctors choose what course of treatment to pursue with each patient. The options are endless. There are no universal treatment course for malignant mesothelioma victims.
